What is emotion code?

The Emotion Code is an energetic healing modality developed by now-retired chiropractor Dr. Bradley Nelson. The entire premise is that everything is made of energy; this includes our thoughts and emotions. If at any point in our lives we encounter an emotionally-triggering event, and we do not properly process the associated emotions, those emotions become trapped in our body. Because emotions are energetically charged, when that energy is not properly released it has to go somewhere and that somewhere ends up being our bodies. We all have trapped emotions. The Emotion Code is a process of identifying and releasing those trapped emotions so that they stop wreaking havoc in our lives.

what are symptoms of a trapped emotion?

There are many different symptoms an individual can experience due to trapped emotions, ranging from physical pain to emotional distress to full blown disease. There is not a single ailment, biological or psychological, that is not further exacerbated by the presence of trapped emotions. Releasing these trapped emotions has the power to aid in recovery from any ailment that you can think of, as the release frees up energetic space to facilitate healing, both biological and emotional. There is also a comorbidity associated with trapped emotions: those emotions have a likelihood of exacerbating physical ailments, but those physical ailments lend a greater propensity to trapping emotions in those areas. Releasing these trapped emotions facilitates greater overall health and healing in all areas.

How do you identify and release trapped emotions?

During an Emotion Code session, I utilize a process called muscle testing to access the client's subconscious mind, which tells me which emotions it is ready to release on any given day. The subconscious mind stores every single piece of information or sensory input it has ever encountered in our entire lives and therefore has stored every single instance of emotion-trapping that ever occurs. During a session, I will create an energetic proxy connection with you, which means that I "become" you energetically for the duration of our session. Once I identify which trapped emotion is ready to be released, I use a magnet (to magnify my intention of release) along the Governing Meridian of my body (the energetic pathway dictated by traditional Chinese Acupuncture that governs all other energetic pathways in the body) to release the trapped emotion. 

my subconscious is pretty scary though!

Don't worry! Your subconscious is not a full buffet for me - I only ask it yes or no questions and it only gives me yes or no answers. I am not privy to any other memories or traumas that may be lurking in there!

what exactly is muscle testing?

It's kind of hard to explain exactly what muscle testing is, so have a look at this fairly informative video I found! Because I am able to make an energetic proxy connection during our session, I do all the muscle testing, seeking yes or no answers from your subconscious as I ask it questions.

Do i need to relive my traumas in order for this to work?

Not at all! In fact, one of my favorite things about the Emotion Code is that your subconscious has already logged everything that has happened to you and you don't need to consciously relive any of it in order to release it. Our sessions are entirely confidential and you are only required to tell me as much as you desire to. If a trapped emotion comes up from a certain age range, and you remember the event that you think caused that trapped emotion, great! If you have no idea, that's perfectly fine too, but either way you don't have to share it with me. You don't need to recall anything that comes up during a session in order for the emotions to be released. 

once an emotion is released, can it return?

No. You may find that in a later session, or even the same one, the same emotion will come up again, but it will never be from the same instance as a previously trapped emotion. Once any given emotion is released, it is gone forever. That is not to say, however, that you cannot keep trapping emotions; you can, and you will as long as you're alive. But the more emotions you have released, the more energy your mind and body now have freed up to properly process emotions going forward. Having said this, you will likely find after consistent sessions that you are no longer responding to the stressors in your life in such a highly reactive state as you are accustomed to.

what should I expect from an emotion code session?

At the start of a session I will ask if you have any questions for me. I will then proceed to ask your age and if you have any particular areas of pain, either physical or emotional, that you would like to address. You may also elect to just see what the body would like to release on any given day. I will make a proxy connection with you and begin identifying the emotions, one by one, that are ready to be released. Each body is different and there is a threshold for how many emotions wish to be released during a session; this is entirely dependent on each client and how much releasing his or her body can process. One client may have only 3 emotions ready to be released while another may have 13; there is no "one size fits all". You will hear me asking your body "yes" or "no" questions; I am quickly narrowing down, from a list of 60 possible trapped emotions, which emotion we need to isolate and release. We will continue releasing trapped emotions during our session until the body indicates, through muscle testing, that there are no more emotions it wishes to release that day. 

what should I expect after my session?

There will be a period of processing after each session and only 20% of clients experience processing symptoms. Symptoms may include heightened emotional reactivity, crying more than normal, or a change in eating and/or sleeping habits. If symptoms are experienced, these typically last 2-3 days up to a week following the session. Anything that might seem "off" after a session is completely normal. If we addressed any physical or emotional pain during a session, you may also see those issues begin to clear up significantly. If you do not, it may take more time and more sessions to address those particular issues. There is no "right" or "wrong" - each body is different and will process differently. Some clients need several sessions to find relief and some find immediate relief. I am not able to say which will be the case for you, though my hope is always that you find instant healing!

how often do I need a session?

For the first month or so I recommend weekly sessions. Think of it this way: you have spent your entire life up to this point trapping emotions so there is going to be a lot of upfront work to do to start dwindling what I call "the garbage heap." Once the heap is significantly lessened, it's going to take less work to clean what is left of that heap and to keep it from growing again. After a month or two of weekly sessions, most people find once or twice a month to be sufficient for "maintenance" work. I will never push a schedule on you; each client should have a session as often as they feel is beneficial. 

what if i can't recall what happened to cause the trapped emotion you identified?

That's perfectly fine - you don't need to! Your subconscious already knows. You don't need to recall or relive anything.

do i need to believe in this in order for it to work?

Nope, not at all! I like to tell people that you can deny gravity exists all you want to, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't still affect your life! I offer each first session at 50% off the normal price so that you can get a feel for if this is something that is beneficial for you. Skeptics are welcome! I have had many skeptical clients whose pain disappeared within hours after their first session - sometimes it is something you have to experience for yourself to believe!
